Dr. Ron Altman

Dr. Altman was born in Montreal, Canada (he steadfastly denies ever saying “oot and aboot”). After completing his undergraduate studies in Montreal, Dr. Altman attended the Ontario Veterinary College, in Guelph Ontario, graduating in 1999. Following graduation, Dr. Altman relocated to Albany, NY, where he practiced for several years at the Capital District Animal Emergency Clinic.

In 2008, after moving about the country, Dr. Altman settled in the mountain town of Evergreen, Colorado where he acquired a veterinary hospital. Dr. Altman remained in Evergreen for 8 years, where he raised his son, as well as enjoyed everything Colorado has to offer: beautiful mountains, fly fishing, wildlife and hiking with his dogs. After enduring 8 years of cold winters at 7500 feet above sea level, Dr. Altman decided it was time to move somewhere warm, but quaint, and relocated to Naples, Florida.

Professionally, Dr. Altman developed an interest in veterinary dentistry, oral surgery and anesthesia. He has taken multiple continuing education courses in veterinary dentistry with internationally recognized veterinary dentists Brett Beckman, Tony Woodward and Ira Luskin. He has attended several veterinary dental conferences as well. In 2017, Dr. Altman completed one year of a veterinary dental residency program during which time he had the privilege to spend a couple of days in Tampa treating tigers who were suffering from dental disease. He then returned to private practice where he could use his skills to improve the lives of our pets one mouth at a time. To compliment his dentistry studies, Dr. Altman now focuses the majority of his continuing education in the field of anesthesia, including having spent a week with Dr. Luisito Pablo (anesthesiologist) at the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Altman is very proud to now find himself working with Dr. Anne Lozynski at Olde Naples Animal Wellness Center, where he performs oral and soft tissue surgeries. We are committed to the highest standard of care possible for our patients. Our state of the art monitoring equipment, including a ventilator, is used in every anesthetic procedure. We tailor our anesthetic protocols to each patient, based on their specific health conditions. Our trained and dedicated technicians help us to provide the safest and most comfortable experience possible for our patients.

In his free time, Dr. Altman enjoys spending time with his son, his 2 dogs, 2 cats and 2 ferrets (things are better in twos!). He enjoys paddleboarding, riding his Harley Davidson (much to his mother’s dismay) and taking in all that Naples has to offer.
